SAD-AFAG ((Sualtı Arastırmaları Dernegi-Akdeniz Foku Arastırma Grubu) is the leading NGO in Turkey, established in 1987, dedicated to protecting the endangered Mediterranean monk seal and conserving its pristine coastal and marine habitats. Its mission is to protect monk seals and their natural coastal habitats along the Turkish coasts, while promoting the sustainability of artisanal fisheries as true companions of monk seals in their shared habitats and ecological niche.
