The mission of the METU-IMS (Middle East Technical University – Institute of Marine Sciences) is to conduct excellent fundamental research in the world’s oceans, especially Turkey’s seas, addressing key environmental challenges. The institute aims to translate research findings into practical products and solutions that benefit society and promote a sustainable blue economy, while also sharing knowledge through its educational programs and social responsibility initiatives.
