The aim of the “Fondation Segré Conservation Fund” established within Fauna & Flora is to achieve meaningful and lasting conservation change through the delivery of a series of targeted, locally-operated projects. The Fund will initially run for five years and work on five specific initiatives, the first of which was undertaken in 2013. The four new projects, which involve local conservation organisations and act to engage local stakeholders, are:
- Supporting the Next Generation of Conservation Leaders
- Establishing a Ridge-to-Reef conservation programme for the Tanintharyi landscape in Myanmar
- Sustaining key conservancies in northern Kenya, Northern Rangelands Trust
- Developing sustainable tourism for Chuilexi Conservancy in Mozambique
