PLEASE NOTE FONDATION SEGRÉ IS NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING UNSOLICITED CONCEPT NOTES OR PROPOSALS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Preliminary concept
The first step is to submit a preliminary concept of no more than 2’000 words, which includes objectives, activies, rough budget and timeframe. The Foundation will review it for consistency with our priorities and criteria with support, if necessary, from independent experts.
Full proposal
If the concept is approved by the Foundation, the applicant will be invited to submit a full proposal using the Foundation’s templates for the project description, the budget and the logical framework. The full proposal will be sent for review to at least two independent experts chosen by the Foundation. On the basis of the external and internal reviews, the Foundation may reject the proposal or request clarification, changes and revisions until agreement on a final version is reached.
Formal approval and contract
The proposal will then be sent to the Foundation Board for formal approval. If the Board formally approves the project, the terms of the Foundation’s contribution will be defined in a contract spelling out the timing of the project, disbursement dates and prerequisites, as well as reporting obligations. The entire process should normally take no more than two months.
Additional guidance
Please note that Fondation Segré does not fund PhD nor research projects. Awareness raising, education, alternative livelihood and research activities will only be accepted if part of a broader conservation project. Individuals may apply but those who are supported by an organisation will be preferred.
